When Natural Healthy Foods invited me to be one of the first to sample their new brunch offering I leaped at the chance! I'm by no means a fully fledged vegan but am very conscious about eating a more plant based diet and making swaps as and where I can and with restaurants like Natural Healthy Foods doing what they do to make vegan food more tasty and available in Birmingham they are forging the way forward in educating the locals into how to make vegan food taste amazing!
Never in my life did I think I'd eat aubergine bacon and go back for more! The menu ranges from avocado on toast to smoothie bowls with a build your own breakfast featuring scrambled tofu, aubergine bacon and hash browns to name but a few! I opted for the build your own loading up with greens, home baked beans, scrambled tofu, avocado, hash browns and gluten free toast. Literally a feast fit for a king. With a beetroot latte to drink my brunch was a feast for the eyes aswell as the belly.
Despite my plate being overflowing and me being me, eating the lot (and wanting to lick the plate!) I didn't feel full or bloated but perfectly satisfied and even eyed up the deserts- but resisted in the end!
On the whole it was a completely satisfying and super tasty way to start a Saturday. Aswell as a restaurant, Natural Healthy Foods also has an attached supermarket where you can pick up all your favourite vegan treats from chocolate, to veggies, drinks and snacks aswell as substitutes for your favourite meat products. It's definitely not one to be missed whether you're a meat eater, a vegetarian, a vegan or anything in between. The food is damn good, there's no doubt about that!
