I love starting my day with a fresh green juice. It's a super easy and quick way to get a hit of vitamins and minerals. My morning juice gives me the energy to start my day, it sets me up for making better choices throughout the day, aids digestion and leaves my skin super clear.
A few years ago I saw green juice as grass juice and thought it tasted like lawn mower remnants! After numerous recipes and experiments I actually look forward to my juice in the morning and the taste is actually good!
My base recipe is usually pretty similar but then i'll work with what's seasonal or what I have in the fridge/freezer to mix it up a little and stop it becoming repetitive.
This morning I went for my morning run and wanted a little extra rehydration so added a twist in the form of Vita Coco Coconut Water with pineapple.
Ingredients: 1 green apple chopped, 1/3 large cucumber chopped, 2 cups fresh spinach (frozen also works), 330ml vita coco coconut water with pineapple.
Method: (I use a nutribullet for my juices and smoothies) Add all ingredients and blend until smooth
Today's juice was sweet and simple. If I'm just using regular water I add a squeeze of lemon and a grate of ginger to alter the taste slightly and some ice to make sure its super cold. Sometimes I add a handful of frozen broccoli or some frozen pineapple or mango for another twist. The possibilities are endless and a tiny little tweak makes the juice different and interesting!
